Last concert for the time being, and it was great. The Wiltern is an awesome venue. As for the band, they had some amazing stage presence. Definitely a band that gets into the music. We Barbarians opened for them (another Long Beach band) and they were actually quite good. Great concert to end on.
There are but a handful of days I look forward to spending with my family every year. 1 of those days just so happens to be today, Thanksgiving. So, that made the actions of 1 (possibly more) assholes, all the more infuriating.
I woke up this morning and went out to my car to get some packages I had left in the back. As I got towards the back, I noticed a bunch of black bits and pieces littered across the floor.

What you are looking at is what I found. The rear window on my parent’s car was completely shattered. Of course I was immediately pissed beyond belief and trying to figure out what the fuck had happened. Our cars are parked inside behind a locked gate, so obviously someone hucked something. Breaking without entering. A fucking prank!
I went inside and delivered the news that would start our Thanksgiving off on the wrong foot. Parents rushed out and tried to make sense of it. We called the cops. We didn’t want to touch anything until they got there. When they did, we discovered what it was. A lug-nut, a truck’s lug-nut. Some A-hole thought it would be very cute to hurl this thing at our window on Thanksgiving.
I’m still pretty pissed about this. I mean what kind of person is that fuck-tarded to do such a thing on Thanksgiving? It’s days like this that make you believe in hell, cus it’s precisely where these a-holes are going.
Thanks cowardly fuck-faces for ruining our day. Karma is most definitely a bitch. I hope for their sake I never find out who it was.
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.
Crazy fog! Fog like I’ve never seen before. Comes in real thick and in a matter of seconds. Driving is the much more of a pain now. Drive safe out there people, make sure those low-beams are on, and keep your eyes peeled. It’s kinda funny because I’m in the middle of online traffic school, and they say you should never drive in the fog. Oh well. Life goes on…

Tonight was awesome! Fully Flared World Premiere at Royce Hall. For those that don’t know, Fully Flared is Lakai’s first video, and there has been some serious hype built up over the several years it’s been in the works. The team alone pretty much guaranteed this video was going to be amazing, but one could never be too sure.
The place was packed. A huge turnout of eager fans, pros and kids alike, anxious to see the results. The video most definitely did not disappoint! It was fucking incredible. I won’t say anymore on the off chance that someone stumbles onto my blog and reads spoilers, but trust me, it was amazing. Out on DVD December 7th!
I was looking forward to taking pics, but we were told cameras weren’t allowed. Like a dorky little scout, my dumbass returned to the car to leave, but I should’ve just hung on to it. So no pics. But Rita at work did bring her camera and got this shot of Jake phelps.

I got to go down to the beach to document a behind the scenes look at the photo-shoot for Summer/Fall 08′.
More on this as soon as photos are edited.

Hot damn! This one was amazing. Spoon kicked ass, and Feist blew the roof off the place. She is officially one of my favorite performers. Everything about her is just perfect on stage. First of all her voice. And what a voice! She could probably sing without the mic and it would sound just as amazing and carry all the way to the back. Second is her guitar playing. Sweet Jesus. She’s just incredible! Definitely going to see her again ASAP.
Almost done, 1 more concert. Cold War Kids at the Wiltern after turkey day.
Back to the Orpheum Theatre tonight for Stars. The opening act was a little drawn out (Lloyd Cole) but Stars more then made up for it. The performance made me want to go out and buy a microKorg, which I think I’ll do. Amazing performers, terrific sound and awesome balcony seating. Oh and Sandra Oh from Grey’s Anatomy was there. She sat in front of us and rocked out. I don’t watch the show but she did have a familiar face. Feist in two days!!
Just saw it, it was amazing. If you haven’t seen it, see it. Classic Wes Anderson / Robert Yeoman. It’s finally showing at more theaters too. Also, they’re now showing the Hotel Chevalier short before the feature, so you also get to see that on the big screen.
