“It was like three episodes back to back.” Those were words of one dip shit coming out the theater. My response, “And what the fuck is wrong with that?” The movie was awesome. It was like everything you’d come to expect from the amazing writers of the show with plenty of added bonuses. They were really able to push some boundaries that I’m sure they’ve been dieing to do for quite some time.
Very smart from begining to end, and very very funny. However what really made the movie special were the in between moments, the “serious” moments, that made the movie really shine. Very awesome. Kudos to them for doing what many try and few succeed in, making a movie from a TV show that actually lives up to the hype. If you haven’t seen it, shame on you. See it on the big screen!
Seeing as how this Simpson’s movie is out tomorrow, I visited the movie site to transform myself into one of the happy yellow people of the Simpson’s universe. 15 minutes later, this is the outcome. Pretty damn close eh?
WOW! That’s only way to possibly start this post which has automatically taken priority over posting my New York photos, simply due to its epic nature and the fact that for a moment, I felt I might not live to see 25. It was by far the craziest trip I’ve ever been on. It was, like one co-worker put it, “like Navy Seal training”.
It took a while to finally post this but I’ve taken the liberty of posting tons of pics and video shot by David and myself for your viewing pleasure. Read on and enjoy…
Today was pretty awesome. I had been hearing about this whole 7 Eleven to Kwik-E-Mart conversion for a while, and got to check out the one in Burbank. Only 11 of these in the entire country exist. All of them restocked their shelves with product from the cartoon. Buzz Cola, Krusty-O’s, Squishees, and those oversaturated pink frosted donuts Homer loves oh so much. What made this one different however is that it was redesigned to resemble the Kwik-E-Mart by changing all signage and offering a bevy of movie memorabilia.
Today we have a new friend at home. Her name is Sofie and she’s a Japanese Bob-Tail. She has the most amazing eyes and the most unique tail. These cats apperantly are born with shirt little tales, and have a lot of the same characteristics of a bob cat. I’m not a big cat person, but she really likes me and actually wants me around so I can’t say I don’t love the little thing. I managed to take a few pictures of her.
Josh built himself a very sexy single speed which he brought down to work today and let us take for a ride. He shot a couple of pictures and titled them “joyous”.
So let me begin by saying that Transformers was serious eye-candy, and anyone who was ever a fan of the toys or the cartoons should make it a point to go. Now, there was something that got my attention before the movie began, and as my friend said, “great marketing campaign”.
If you’ve seen the movie then you know what I’m talking about, if not, I’m talking about a project by J.J. Abrams with no title.
As the trailer played out Dave leaned over and told me to visit the number on the license plate of one of the cars in the trailer just before the head of the statue of liberty comes crashing down on top of it. Sure enough this morning as waited patiently for my opportunity to get tickets to Interpol, I visit the Apple Trailers site and saw the “1-18-08″ image and saw the trailer again. I paused it right when they show the license plate on the SUV. The number on the back read “ABZ 3293″ so I hit up www.abz3293.com and sure enough I’m at a site somehow related to the flick.
Perfect just perfect! I just got the car out of the shop and damn these wheels make such a huge difference. The car looks 80% more badass. The offset is perfect and the fit is so exact. +100 points for work wheels.
As for my 4th of July, it was pretty cool. Went down to manhattan beach in hopes of seeing some fireworks, but it was too damn overcast. The highlight had to be this girl who was about 18 if not younger. Drunk off her ass trying to ride her bike on the path. I first noticed a girl fallen off her bike in the sand and thought, “damn that sucks”, but then quickly realized as she stumbled to get up, that she was just hammered. She made 4 more attempts to ride off but found herself eating shit every time. She finally got pissed and walked the bike away. Instant classic!
I went down to the the theater yesterday evening, like so many others, to see Transformers, and of course…sold out. However, all hope was not lost. We were able to get into “Live Free…or Die Hard” and were for the most part very pleased. Bruce Willis did an amazing job keeping that same bad ass John McClane character we all remember from Die Hard 1-3. Non-stop action and raw badassism.
Now all was not perfect. There were a few really poor editing points where things were very obviously voice overed. I also thought it was kinda hard to believe downtown L.A. Is Washington DC when you don’t remove the library and the Bonaventure Hotel from the shot. But as soon as you remember that this is an over the top action flick, all is forgiven. Automatic 10 stars for Bruce who fights a fighter jet, and wins.
Plot wise, scary/interesting. Hope that shit never really happens. Go check it out. It’s a fun time.
So I can’t really decide what the greatest part of the iPhone is. This “device” is without a doubt the most incredible piece of technology I’ve ever put my hands on. I don’t really care if somewhere out there in Japan there is some super phone, what matters is that this thing which I’m using to write this, is here now, and it’s freakin sweet! New York pics coming soon.
